How to change your text size and style?

Changing the font and increasing the font size may be both decorative and practical. Large fonts are easier to see. Fonts with serifs are more formal as well as easier to read, but they take up more space. You can change the fonts by selecting the Font pop-up menu just above the writing box in your chat window. You can experiment with each font to see which is best for you. Note that changing fonts may replace the shaded separator bars with outlined placeholders (which may or may not be empty), but forfeiting shaded separator bars is a small price to pay for legibility. Any font changes you make in your chat window are for your eyes only. Other chatters do not see your font selections.
If you change your font size and style and are totally miserable, don’t despair; you can restore the default font. It’s Tahoma, 8 points, Western script.

Are these directions for earlier versions of Skype? I'm using 4.00215, and there is no pop-up menu just above the writing box. I have the emoticons, send file and EXTRAS that does nothing. I'm too old for the default fonts and need to make them larger. Please help.

The morons just made it annoying and pointlessly out of the way to change. just click Tools> Options then go to the IM & Sms section. In the IM Appearance sub-tab you'll find [Change font] (slapping you in the face with its why am i put here and abused looking) button. That's where it's found... D:<

Thank you for your tip. I almost lost my eyesight reading the 4pt font on my 8inch screen. You are a life saver.

4 point? You're lucky - my font size was 3 point. Talk about well hidden!

Oh - and thank you Google.

thank you Rashek, I thought I was going to loose my eye-sight for good! The font option should be easy accessible.

This changes the font of the IM but not of the main Skype page. Also I think that there's something written in light blue print, maybe there's something interesting there?

I remember now that I dropped Skype several versions earlier because of the same issue.

On Android version there is no way to change font size, The default (only) size is small in grey on a white background. So, tough.
